A Thought (or two) on Death

Someday you'd die
Would see your loved ones pass before your eyes
And you would be impotent to it
but that's just the cycle of life.
Suffer, lust, greed, and agony
    will all come eventually.

Do you see death as someone you should be afraid of
Or someone you should await?

Do you see her as someone to scoop you into her arms
and lift you up as if you were a feather on her wing,
    whispering words you wouldn't understand
then take you flying towards the sky?

Or would she be the one to choke you with her slender fingers
and your eyes reddening with bloodshot
While she whispers in your ears
'bout the things you had left
'bout the sins you had sinned
and 'bout the souls you had crushed?

Would you feel relieved
    or would you feel suffocated?
Would you miss the things you did
    or the didn't?

Who would mourn,
Who would laugh,
And who would hold everything you had held?

When your eyes went blurry and ears tinnitus
You'd see her coming.
You might wait with your friends or your love,
But you'd see her coming.
You might wait with the entire mankind, your hands intertwining into each others'
But she would come
and she would take you only.
